When you get a violation for these types of issues, just fix it and they will come back and see you fixed it and it will go away. 

They give you a certain amount of time, usually 30 days or so. If you cannot fix it within that amount of time, let them know. 

They will also issue violations for accumulations, garbage, disrepair such as broken windows, damaged siding, messed up soffit or fascia, anything that just affects the appearance and degrades the neighborhood. 

Dont ignore these notices though, if you do not fix whatever they deem as being detrimental, you will get a notice to appear in front of the magistrate.
